Michael Black, a blogger/webmaster with over a decade of history writing about Montreal Fringe online has decided to lay a verbal smackdown on us at BloggingFringe.com - and I respond in a big way.
OK, now that the Fringe Festival is long over, and the spike in traffic for Blogging Fringe has come and gone, what do we have to show for it? Not as much as I'd like, really. The fact that lots of our content is spread across other sites (MySpace, YouTube) doesn't really require anyone to use our site to get the content. With this audience, we don't really need to worry about feeds taking away from our traffic.
Hello Vocus, On-Demand Software for Public Relations and Government Relations, who are you? You guys have me on some sort of an internal news reader or some such, because I keep getting hits from your site! I don't want to be removed, I'd just like to know who my admirer is so I can shake their hand (physically or virtually). It always seems to be something to do with Fringe, so a Fringe fan, perhaps?
This post originally appeared on Blogging Fringe and is in relation to that community site in particular, but I think it also applies to any community-driven site I will ever try to build.
OK, so I realised some time today that I alone cannot make all the videos, take all the pictures, do all the blog posts I want to do AND update the MySpace AND write reviews - I think I have 4 or more reviews I want to do, and they might never get the level of attention I think they deserve.
Here's the transcript from my interview with Omar de la Rosa for the Orlando Weekly. It went to print this week on page 30 - the cover story is "Spellbound".

I'm in the Orlando Weekly under "Culture to Go" - page 30 - Ryan Price Media. Big thanks to Omar de la Rosa for seeking me out at Grandma Party. I'll link to it when it's available http://orlandoweekly.com
Earlier this week, I lost 3 months worth of email, to a problem as-of-yet undiagnosed. I had been meaning to get things moved over to our CervoSites hosting (it is our hosting reseller plan), but I was worried the transition wouldn't be smooth... like maybe I would lose all my email!
I am now on the new server and email is running again, but if you sent any important email to < rprice AT ryanpricemedia.com > you'll have to send it again, I don't have it.
It's official: I'm emigrating to England for 12 days at the end of April. The main reason for this trip is to hang out with my super-awesome girlfriend. Bonus points for finally getting to meet Aleshia, one of my Liberatr bloggers, in person.
