The next step in innovation is just around the corner, as the library prepares to open an ambitious technology-and-training center at the downtown branch. The technology center, opening in February, will include music, film and photography studios, editing bays, driving and flight simulators, even a fabrication lab with 3-D printers. Those 3-D printers are already in use for demonstration purposes. They are able to scan and replicate with amazing precision objects ranging from children's toys to cooking implements.

ideally opening at about the same time as SunRail. Set to accept fares in May 2014, SunRail will run from DeBary in Volusia County through downtown Winter Park and Orlando to south Orange County. The $1.2 billion train should provide potential riders, Wilson said, because many will be looking for a way to get to their final destination. Patriot Gardens | Plant a Seed, Change the Law

Tue, 02/26/2013 - 06:39 -- rprice

We grow dozens of vegetables organically in our front yard in Orlando (read more about why we planted our Patriot Garden). But in November, the city—which aspires to be the “Greenest City in America”—notified us that our harmless garden violates city code, and we have to tear it up and replace it with grass…or face fines of $500 a day. All we want to do is use our property peacefully to grow our own food. The Constitution protects our property rights from arbitrary invasions like this. Help us tell our leaders “Hands off our food!” by planting your own Patriot Garden in your front yard.
