Blogging
I'm outta here!
Update: Oops! somehow this didn't get posted! Here it is a few days late.
Wow, the "B" terminal at the Orlando airport has certainly looked better - I'm flying US Air today (because I was trying to save $50 and they had a cheaper flight to Manchester, NH), and the 50-59 wing is looking ragged. At least the free wi-fi still works.
I left my MacBook power cord safely at home -- feeling really great about having to find a big-box computer store in rural Maine. If you live there, or New York City or Boston, comment on this post and we'll get in touch.
I'm in Maine/NYC/Boston
Been doing a little Twittering, but not much because I left my cell phone AND laptop chargers in Orlando... Paying my credit card bill over dial-up at Kait's dad's house right now... Been having a good time in Maine. The first day I got here, I was running on 3 hours sleep (not conting airplane time), and we went to two adjoining 4J parties, one with Beer Die (like Beer Pong with a 6-sided die) and an old black woman shouting "Point! Point! Drink!
Chris Pirillo's iPhone Rant, plus Why no Flash
I started this morning with "The iPhone doesn't have video". That is Chris' reason #17 of 20 reasons why he didn't buy an iPhone on day 1. I agree with several of his points. This video is about 20 minutes long - I found it very easy to watch the whole thing, despite the fact that Chris gets a little agitated at times during the video.
Fringe Discussion Drama
Michael Black, a blogger/webmaster with over a decade of history writing about Montreal Fringe online has decided to lay a verbal smackdown on us at BloggingFringe.com - and I respond in a big way.
SlideFlickr.com, My New Friend
SlideFlickr.com is, well, they give you embed-friendly Flickr slideshows that work on MySpace - all the Flickr stuff requires JavaScript, so you never see the official Flickr stuff on flash only sites. If Yahoo is smart, they'll get 'em summa this!

Sharing Some Stats
OK, now that the Fringe Festival is long over, and the spike in traffic for Blogging Fringe has come and gone, what do we have to show for it? Not as much as I'd like, really. The fact that lots of our content is spread across other sites (MySpace, YouTube) doesn't really require anyone to use our site to get the content. With this audience, we don't really need to worry about feeds taking away from our traffic.
Caling out Vocus PR
Hello Vocus, On-Demand Software for Public Relations and Government Relations, who are you? You guys have me on some sort of an internal news reader or some such, because I keep getting hits from your site! I don't want to be removed, I'd just like to know who my admirer is so I can shake their hand (physically or virtually). It always seems to be something to do with Fringe, so a Fringe fan, perhaps?
Hello? Anybody home?
Love ya, mean it!
Liberatr.net Returns
For about the last week, Liberatr.net has been down due to the fact that I had to move it to another server ASAP - my email wasn't working, and it was on the list of things to do for about 2 months anyway. The site used 80GB in the month of April (or thereabout). 80GB is nothing to scoff at.
I think I might start hosting my files on Amazon S3 or Cachefly or something as long as it's cheaper than hosting. We shall see.
The important news is: your Liberatr.net feed should be back. It was broken for a while, which must not have been fun.
