Commanding Chaos for Coworking, Open Source and Creative Communities

feeling like...

Sun, 10/20/2002 - 05:00 -- rprice

This one is for the special ladies in my life, wether they read this page or not. Besides, none of them read this page, and if they do, they won't believe this entry is about them... :)

what is it about someone that can make you feel completely in love with them, even though you know in the back of your mind that there is never a chance of you being together again in the way that you would like? why is it the nature of life to put us in situations like that year after year, and then strangely continue to thrust us back into those melancholy feelings, just when we know we don't need it? just a thought...

More Quotes

Thu, 09/26/2002 - 05:00 -- rprice

Here is another great quote, which I like to think fits somewhere into the philosophy of my life. Believe it or not, It's from the Bible! (Thanks Becky G!)

Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or what you wear... see how the lilies of the field grow.... Therefore do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself, each day has enough trouble of its own.
-Matthew 6:25

Wed, 09/25/2002 - 05:00 -- rprice

I was reading my email today, and I came acroos a junk mail letter with the following text in it:

SECRETARYS THAT DOES WHATEVER IT TAKES TO PLEASE THE BOSS!

It was an ad for someting like OFFICE SEX or BOSSESget blow jobs or whatever. I just had to point out that these people are idiots.

OK, I'm off to my first day of work at Sonny's Dollar Tree. If you need to buy some cheap stuff, come on down to the corner of 436 and 17-92. PEACE!

Quote of the Century

Sat, 09/07/2002 - 05:00 -- rprice

Today, on someone's IM away message, I saw a quote that just might describe exactly what I stand for in the world. - Thanks Jill!

"The real things haven't changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures; and have courage when things go wrong." - Laura Ingalls Wilder

Bye! Weekend

Mon, 06/17/2002 - 05:00 -- rprice

So I went home for Father's Day, and my actions of the night before caused me to have a headache. Much to my dismay, my headache was worsened when I went outside to help my dad build his barn. That was the day my dad decided he would put the gutter on.

I'm sure I don't have to mention that this was a heavy tin gutter, and with every swing of the hammer, my headache got worse and worse and worse...

On a lighter note, my older brother gave me a CD with a whole bunch of cool programs burned on it. To prevent being arrested, I'm going to omit the names of them, but they certainly are some of the best, sound, picture, and 3d image programs out there, the same things the pros use. Yay for some guy my brother knows!

Another big hurdle I jumped today was when I cooked my first big piece of meat. I bought a big piece of pork and put it in the oven before I went to class. When I came home, I waited a few minutes and pulled it out. Hark! I can have meat, just like that! I'm proud, even though you don't have to be.

Hey, it looks like my parents might let me go to SigGraph, so if any of you are interested, we need to start planning. Check out the Siggraph Convention 2002 Page.

TGIF! TGIS!

Sun, 06/16/2002 - 05:00 -- rprice

I had just witten a big long post detailing my weekend, and all the fun that went along with it. For some reason unbeknownst to me, all of the stuff I was typing, including the code for the page, just disappeared.
So here's my weekend in review.

1. Leslie and I hung out alot.
2. Serial Experiment: Lain is quite possibly the most confusing thing I've ever watched.
3. I love the Happy Anime Store.
4. I love the music of Cowboy Bebop.
5. I love your mom.
6. I like to rock and roll all night and party every... night.

That was my weekend, in a nutshell. Also, if you wish to respond, just click the NO! links below. That's technically the guest book, but it's posting, and you can do it without me having to do any work. That's all for now, so until next time, remember that
ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE! BA! DA DADDA DA!

TGIF!

Fri, 06/14/2002 - 05:00 -- rprice

I started reading my CSS/DHTML book today, and I realised some things I could do more efficiently, instead of updating each page at a time, and having to hunt for the tag I wanted just to test a color or font I might not like. I still need to come up with content for all my page ideas. I'm also considering moving to pegasus, because there's no advertisements, and free is free, no matter where you get it. If I do change servers, there will be an update.

I doubt I'll get much work done this weekend, becuause a friend of mine is coming to visit from West Palm. I'm sure I'll be going to see my dad on Father's Day, too.

Although I don't have cool posting service, feel free to respond to these postings via email (kerm52@hotmail.com) or AIM (kerm52), and I just might post your response and make it look all pretty.
Later!

Second Post

I don't have alot of time to write, but I'm trying to play with style sheet suff, and I can't get it to work, so I'm trying out some new stuff, and adding content to make the screen scroll is important right now. Other thatn that, if you're in the mood for something sweet come to the Marble Slab before 6 today or from 7 to 11:30 on Saturday!

P.S. I tried to join a Labyrinth Clique today. Hopefully, I will get in. I don't know how these things work, but I just might start a Dark Crystal Clique if nobody has one.

First Post

Wed, 06/12/2002 - 05:00 -- rprice

Well, this is my very first post ever, so I'll try not to put too much. I haven't been doing a whole lot lately, because I was very much used to hanging out with my girlfriend all the time. Thank god for Florida Day, or I may have had a real shitty weekend. I'm going home to visit my dad Sunday, he gets a t-shirt with 'world's best dad' or something to that effect on it.

I'm pretty scared about the coming school year, because I'm going to have to take art classes if I ever want to get into computer animation, which means taking night classes (barf) or changing my schedule around alot. I'm also not sure how long I will hang on to my current job, just because I got less than 10 hours this week, and I forsee something similar happening in the near future. But at least I have stuff I can putz around with in my spare time, like this webpage.

I've made the decision that my summer cannot and will not be a complete waste, so I'm maybe going to Baltimore with my older brother for Games Day, and possibly to Murfeesboro for DCI or (big MAYBE) to San Antonio for the SigGraphics Convention, highly reccomended, and chock full of digital media and computer-related stuff, which are my major and minor, so there's no way that can hurt. And if they have DCI San Antonio that same weekend, there's no reason for me not to go. Anyone wanna jump on the Land Yacht?
