What's new on Drupal.org? - September 2015 | Drupal Association

Fri, 10/16/2015 - 11:29 -- rprice

To implement the requirements of the content strategy we introduced a few new modules to Drupal.org, in particular: organic groups, and panels. These and a few supporting modules have allowed us to create the new Section content type one Drupal.org. Sections are groups, which can have their own maintainers and governance structure. Content (including child Sections) will be associated to this new higher level Section content. Panels and some preconfigured layouts will allow us to improve the layout of content on Drupal.org and create a more consistent look and feel.

Panel Schedule | Drupal.org

Wed, 04/15/2015 - 11:49 -- rprice

Panel Schedule provides a ctools access plugin, intended to be used for controlling visibility of panel panes, and selection of panel variants based on a scheduled start (and optionally end) date & time. Being a simple ctools access plugin, it should also be usable with any other task that makes use of ctools access plugins.

Classy Panel Styles | Drupal.org

Wed, 02/18/2015 - 09:59 -- rprice

CPS allows themers and designers to create a simplified pool of ready-made styles for site builders to choose from when laying out their pages. These translate directly to template and class changes in the DOM in a predictable way. Bridges the gap between styles applied to the site regions and styles applied to the content itself... where the "theme" ends and the WYSIWYG editor begins. Builds on the drag-and-drop content layout freedom that Panels provides. Allows editors to apply ready-made styles a themer has whipped up for them — without having to remember class names!

Masonry Panels | Drupal.org

Wed, 02/18/2015 - 09:55 -- rprice

Provides 'Masonry' style layouts as an option for rendering the contents of panel panes. Masonry rendering will re-pack panes in your panel to minimize vertical space and provide column-like appearance while the items are still in natural (horizontal) order on the page. With "Responsive" layouts happening everywhere, the Panels approach of locking everything into a grid can provide a bit of a dilemma, because your column count is pretty static. But the Panels approach of letting an editor drop elements into a page in certain zones still works well in some cases.
